SURABAYA – Komisi Nasional Pendidikan (Komnasdik) Jatim memggelar diskusi bertajuk bagaimana menjadi seorang pendidik yang profesional untuk anak-anak di era globalisasi. Seminar digelar untuk menyambut Hari Pendidikan Nasional (Hardiknas). Ada sejumlah materi yang dipaparkan. Salah satunya terkait pentingnya kemampuan guru dalam bercerita.
”Dengan pandai bercerita, penampilan guru akan berkesan. Aksinya akan selalu diingat anak didiknya,” ucap Erbe Sentanu, salah seorang pemateri sekaligus praktisi pendidikan asal Jakarta. Erbe mengatakan, teknik bercerita sangat penting untuk memasukkan pesan-pesan moral. Dengan cara itu, guru juga bisa menanamkan pendidikan berkarakter.
Erbe menambahkan, saat ini kreativitas para guru memang penting. Sebab, zaman terus berkembang. ”Tapi, soal pengalaman tidak bisa ditutupi. Cerita pengalaman guru akan sangat menarik,” kata Erbe.
Penuturannya disimak para peserta. Berbagai pertanyaan dilontarkan. Para peserta yang sebagian berasal dari pengamat pendidikan juga mengkritisi kebijakan pemerintah. Ada usul yang masuk untuk pendidikan di Jatim.
”Saya mengusulkan adanya penambahan jam mata pelajaran agama. Saat ini sangat kurang,” ujar Ahmad Faisal, peserta asal Pamekasan. Menurut dia, pendidikan di Jatim jadi barometer nasional. Karena itu, Jatim harus bisa menjadi contoh daerah lainnya.
Faisal menilai, pendidikan agama sangat penting untuk moral anak. Pelajaran tersebut bisa melindungi anak didik dari serangan pornografi yang sulit dibendung. Melalui penambahan pelajaran agama, guru akan lebih leluasa membentuk kepribadian siswa. (bee 5)
